Dancing Water

  • Photography

For this photography project we were asked to look trough combination’s of digital manipulation, scene staging and image appropriation we attempt to shift between reality and fiction, to create our own stories, our own worlds and our own particular versions of “reality”.

My idea was to give water a social element by photographing how water would "dance". By building an acrylic water tank and placing it upon a hi-powered speaker and playing different genres of music whilst dropping in Indian ink (which floats to top without any vibrations) I was able to abstractly photograph how the different tones in music made water move. The images portray a sort of unknown world in which I believe really nudges at the realty vs fiction side of things.
